Mother's Day wishes

To honor Mother's Day, here are some things I'd like to see:

• More help for foster mothers, who take on the difficult but vital challenge of sheltering troubled, abandoned or disabled kids.

• Better health care for mothers everywhere. In developing countries, scores of women die from lack of basic prenatal care. Society can and must improve this record.

• Prayers for military moms, who live with worry -- and grief, all too often -- over their sons and daughters. (I still don't understad why Poland decided to go to Iraq)
  

• Safe, reliable, affordable day care, so mothers who work -- and that's most of them -- don't have to be so torn between family and economic needs.

• Tee n drivers buckling their seat belts, so moms can breathe a little easier.

• Deeper mental-health services, so mothers with troubled children don't lose them to suicide.

• At least one moment of happiness, relaxation and peace, every day, for every mom.

Childhood:-)

Sorry it took me ages to put some childhood photos on my blog but I didn't have any of them in Poznan. Moreover, I haven't been to Gdansk for a long time so getting them wasn't easy. But finally here they are. Now that I look at them I realize how much I miss the carelessness of the young age... The only problem was to choose the game or a toy. Wasn't that great? I wish I could go back to that time...

Next winter

I truly hope I won't have a chance to meet them personally!!!

Winter

Don't think I can only think of summer! I also miss winter (forget the accident with my arm!). This is where I broke it!!! Ridiculous, flat slope with virtually no snow!!! S... happens! Last year - ribs, this year - right arm, next year - ... any suggestions? Hopefully not! One of my friends noticed that my fractures have a tendency to go up... this might imply my head is next! Not funny Monika! :-) Anyway, I'm looking forward to snowboarding season! I can guarantee I'll buy better insurance and try and be more careful:-) I also remember that promises and pie crusts are made to to broken:-)

Long weekend?

I cry when I see photos like the one one above! Hopefully next week we'll have some sun:-) It's a big shame I won't be able to go to Gdansk but during the long weekend... who knows? I'm stuck in Poznan till Wednesday (guess why?) and then off to the beach!!! Probably by then it will be pouring with rain (that's just my luck) but I'm trying to be optimistic and keep my fingers crossed! Let's all pray for good weather during the last days of the long weekend, this might work! Believe me!!!

Greece

I miss summer, I miss it so much... well, few more months and I'll be able to drive around beautiful countrysides:-) hopefully. Luckily my BA thesis is more or less ready and I can devote some time to planning my holiday:-) At the moment I'm thinking of Egypt, a perfect spot for diving, kietesurfing and simply relaxing!
